Comparison
ScaFix vs NTI SCAFFPLANNER
NTI SCAFFPLANNER is a plug-in that designs scaffolds inside Autodesk Revit, for BIM projects in industry and infrastructure. ScaFix is a browser and iPhone app that plans facade scaffolds from wall measurements, a PDF drawing or a scan, without Revit. Written by the maker of ScaFix, one of the tools compared. Every NTI fact comes from NTI's product page, read on 25 October 2026; corrections to support@scafix.app.

When is NTI SCAFFPLANNER the right tool, and when is ScaFix?
NTI SCAFFPLANNER is the right tool when the scaffold must live in a Revit BIM model, with IFC and BCF exchange and automatic strength calculations, on systems such as HAKI, Layher or Alustar. ScaFix fits facade jobs where a 3D plan and parts list are needed quickly, in a browser or on an iPhone, without Revit.

Revit first, or the walls first
NTI SCAFFPLANNER starts where the building already exists as a Revit model. The scaffold is designed against that model, so clashes, access and sequencing can be coordinated with the other trades through IFC and BCF. For an industrial plant, an energy site or a large infrastructure job run in BIM, that is how the rest of the project works too.
ScaFix starts from the walls. On a house or a block of flats there is often no BIM model at all, only a floor plan or a tape measure. ScaFix takes the wall lengths and heights, a PDF drawing or an iPhone LiDAR scan, and builds the scaffold and its parts list from them in the chosen system.
Strength calculations against a planning aid
NTI lists automatic strength calculations and integrated safety calculations as built-in features, and says the outputs help with health, safety and structural compliance. Those are the checks an engineer would otherwise do by hand or in a separate program.
ScaFix makes no such calculation. It counts the parts the manufacturer's bay lengths and lift heights lead to, and follows the tie and bracing rules where the manufacturer's documents give them, but it does not verify loads or stability. A scaffold that needs a design calculation still needs one; ScaFix is a planning aid, not structural approval.
Systems and price
NTI names five systems: Alusafe, Alustar, HAKI, Layher and Solidec, and invites users to ask about others. ScaFix's catalogue holds 108 systems from 56 manufacturers, from Nordic frame systems such as Jamax and HAKI Ram to Layher, PERI, Plettac and US frame scaffolds.
NTI quotes each organisation after a demo. ScaFix publishes its prices: the price paragraph below is filled from its price list.
Two kinds of job
Think of a process plant shutdown: hundreds of scaffolds around pipework and vessels, a Revit or IFC model of the plant, and clash checks with the other trades. That is the work NTI names as its field, for contractors and industrial service providers in oil, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing.
Now think of a terraced house that needs new render, or a block of flats with new balconies. There is no BIM model, the scaffold is a facade scaffold in a standard system, and the question is how many standards, ledgers, decks and ties the yard has to load. That is the work ScaFix is made for: the walls in, the scaffold and its parts out, in a few minutes.
Pick NTI SCAFFPLANNER if…
- the project runs in Autodesk Revit (2024, 2025 or 2026) and the scaffold must be part of the BIM model;
- you exchange models through IFC and BCF with other trades;
- you want strength and safety calculations inside the design tool;
- your scaffolds are Alusafe, Alustar, HAKI, Layher or Solidec systems on industrial or infrastructure sites.
Pick ScaFix if…
- there is no Revit model, only measurements or a PDF floor plan;
- you plan facade scaffolds for homes, blocks and small commercial buildings;
- the plan is made in a browser or on an iPhone, by the person who prices the job;
- you want to see the price before booking a demo.
What ScaFix does not do
- No structural analysis: no FEM, no strength or stability calculation. ScaFix is a planning aid, not structural approval.
- No Revit, IFC or BCF workflow and no CAD drawings.
- No rental management: no hire, dispatch, returns or invoicing.
- No free plan.

What ScaFix costs
From ScaFix's own price list: the first week of Pro costs €0.98, then €9.98 a week until you cancel (cancel in the first week and access ends at once). The yearly plans cost €39.90 (Basic Light), €79.90 (Basic) and €149.90 (Pro) a year. Rounded corners, silos, hanging scaffolds, hoists and mobile and stair towers are Pro only.

Autodesk Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026, according to NTI's product page read on 25 October 2026. ScaFix needs no Revit or other CAD program.
Which scaffold systems are in NTI SCAFFPLANNER?
NTI lists Alusafe, Alustar, HAKI, Layher and Solidec, and asks users to contact it if their system is missing (read on 25 October 2026).
Does NTI SCAFFPLANNER calculate strength?
NTI lists automatic strength calculations and integrated safety calculations as built-in features. ScaFix does not calculate strength or stability.
What does NTI SCAFFPLANNER cost?
NTI does not publish a price: it gives a tailored quote based on the organisation's setup, after a personalised demo (read on 25 October 2026).
Is ScaFix an alternative to NTI SCAFFPLANNER?
For facade scaffolds planned from measurements or a PDF, with a parts list, yes. For scaffolds designed inside a Revit BIM model with strength calculations, NTI does what ScaFix does not.
