Plan scaffolding in ChatGPT with ScaFix

Describe the walls in a chat, in your own language, and ScaFix's engine plans the scaffold: bays, lifts, decks, corners and access, with a 3D card and a link that opens the whole building on scafix.app.

Status on 7 October 2026

  • The ScaFix app for ChatGPT is a developer preview: it works in ChatGPT's developer mode.
  • It is not listed in ChatGPT's app directory yet.

What it does

  • Plans one straight wall, or several walls with corners (an L, a U or the whole house).
  • Uses the same engine as the ScaFix web app and iPhone app, with the systems ScaFix knows (Jamax, HAKI, Layher, Plettac, PERI and more).
  • Answers with bays, lifts, deck levels, scaffold length, area, access and the part types, plus a 3D card.
  • Gives a link that opens the whole building, every wall and corner, in 3D on scafix.app.
  • Answers in 16 languages, among them Norwegian, English, German, Polish, Dutch, Danish, Finnish, French, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian.

The five tools

Every tool only reads: nothing is written, deleted or posted anywhere.

  • plan_scaffold_wall: the scaffold for one straight wall or facade.
  • plan_scaffold_building: the scaffold along two or more connected walls, with real corners.
  • compare_scaffold_plans: two set-ups of one wall side by side, for example two systems or two heights.
  • list_scaffold_systems: the scaffold systems ScaFix supports, by name and maker.
  • get_wall_parts_list: the full parts list with quantities, only when you ask for it and only with a linked ScaFix account with a plan.

What needs a ScaFix account

  • Without an account, plans never include part quantities, and the 3D card shows an example of the same type: the same walls, corners and system, with example measurements.
  • With a linked ScaFix account with an active plan, ChatGPT can fetch the full parts list for the walls you planned, and the 3D card shows your own scaffold.
  • The link to your account is read-only and can be revoked.

How to try it today

  1. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode (Settings → Apps → Advanced).
  2. Create an app with the server address https://scafix.app/api/mcp and choose OAuth.
  3. Ask about scaffolding, for example «scaffold along a 12 m wall, 6 m high, with Layher Allround».

Privacy

  • ScaFix logs one line per tool call: the tool, the result status, the system, the language, whether an account is linked, and the length and height rounded to 5 m and 2 m steps.
  • No e-mail address, user id, token, location, IP address or the text of your chat is logged.
  • ScaFix's privacy policy applies; questions go to support@scafix.app.

Questions and answers

Can ChatGPT plan scaffolding?

With the ScaFix app, yes: ChatGPT passes your wall measurements to ScaFix's engine, which plans bays, lifts, decks, corners and access and returns a 3D card. ChatGPT does not invent the numbers.

Does the ScaFix app in ChatGPT give a parts list?

Plans show the part types but no quantities. The full parts list with quantities needs a linked ScaFix account with an active plan, and is fetched only when you ask for it.

Is the ScaFix ChatGPT app in the app directory?

Not yet (7 October 2026). It is a developer preview that works in ChatGPT's developer mode with the server address https://scafix.app/api/mcp.

Is a plan from ChatGPT a structural calculation?

No. Every result is a planning aid, not a structural calculation or approval. Follow the manufacturer's assembly instructions and the rules that apply.
