Layher Allround or Layher Blitz?

Short answer: neither is better in general; it depends on what you own or can rent, and on the facade. In ScaFix, Layher Allround has bays of 3.07 m and 2.57 m and depths of 1.4 m, 1.09 m and 0.73 m; Layher Blitz has bays of 3.07 m, 2.57 m, 2.07 m and 1.57 m and depths of 1.09 m and 0.73 m. On the 11.4 m × 5.3 m example house, Layher Allround needs 481 parts and Layher Blitz 271; on a straight wall of four bays, 6 m high, Layher Allround needs 166 (12.28 m) and Layher Blitz 99 (12.28 m).

The two systems in ScaFix

From the app’s system catalogue. Both are Layher systems with 3.07 m bays: Allround is a modular system with rosettes (standards and ledgers), Blitz a frame scaffold with steel frames. That difference, not the bay length, explains most of the gap in the part counts.

The same straight walls with each system

Five straight walls of 2 to 10 bays, 4 to 12 m high, one per row. Each system uses its own longest bay, so the lengths differ slightly.

How to choose between them

  • Use the system you own or can rent nearby: a mixed yard costs more than a few extra pieces.
  • Check the bay lengths against your facades: more bay lengths fit odd lengths more closely.
  • Compare the depths: a deeper scaffold gives more room to work but uses different decks and transoms.
  • Count the pieces to handle, not only the price per piece: more pieces mean more transport and erection time.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and approval for ties and loads; ScaFix plans, it does not approve.

Questions and answers

Which needs more parts, Layher Allround or Layher Blitz?

On ScaFix’s 11.4 m × 5.3 m example house, Layher Allround needs 481 parts and Layher Blitz 271. On a straight 4-bay wall 6 m high, Layher Allround needs 166 and Layher Blitz 99. The count follows the bay length, the depth and how each system is built.

Can I plan both Layher Allround and Layher Blitz in ScaFix?

Yes. Both are in the system picker with their own bay lengths and depths, and ScaFix draws the scaffold in 3D and works out the parts list for each.

Is a ScaFix comparison an approval of either system?

No. ScaFix is a planning tool. Erection, ties and loads follow the manufacturer’s instructions and approvals, checked by a competent person.
